Ceramic Sinks

Ceramic sinks have been around for a long time. I still remember washing paint brushes in a ceramic Butler sink at school. They are as practical today as they were then, easy to clean, very resistant to stains and their very big bowl means they are still popular. They do have one down fall, being ceramic they can be chipped if given a hard knock. For most people, this is never a problem.

Many people looking to create a traditional look for their kitchen opt for a Butler or Belfast sink. Using a Butler/Belfast sink in a fitted kitchen will often mean making a special cupboard. Most butler sinks are still made to Imperial sizes, although there are a few that are in metric sizes (the majority of kitchen manufacturers produce cabinets in metric sizes). Bear in mind that ceramic sinks do vary slightly in size and that we cannot guarantee the exact dimensions. A more modern version of the ceramic sink is now available. There are several inset ceramic sinks offering the look of a normal sink with the shine of white ceramic. They are also able to fitted in a laminate worktop which helps keep the price down (Belfast style ceramic sinks are mounted under the worktop which means laminate is not a suitable worktop).
